WHAT IS ACT-SO

ACT-SO (Afro-Academics, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics) is a year-long achievement program dedicated to recruiting, stimulating, and encouraging high academic, and cultural excellence among African American high school students. ACT-SO encompasses 33 categories in STEM, humanities, business, and performing, visual and culinary arts. Since its inception, nearly 300,000 young individuals have participated in the program.

ACT-SO community members may volunteer as chairpersons, mentors, sponsors, organizers, or educational partners. Schools, local businesses, community organizations, churches, foundations, and major corporations provide critical support to the program.
